Mrs. Rucksdashel English Team lead, Lower school
Mrs. Rucksdashel has been a passionate educator for 18 years. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Jacki first began her teaching career with a certification in elementary and special education in public schools in Dallas. After marrying her husband of twenty years, Richard, she stepped into a private Christian school teaching position where she experienced her first taste and love of classical education. Once her two children, Eleanor and Andrew, were born, homeschooling became an easy transition since she couldn't help but share all the classical tools and knowledge she had learned in the classroom.
Mrs. Rucksdashel has spent half of her teaching career specializing and teaching her favorite subject, English. She enjoys helping students fall in love with the English language and inspiring them to become effective communicators through reading, writing, and speaking. Her students all can boast of earning the highest honor of being called a "grammar nerd!" Reading classical literature and discussing the timeless themes and lessons from stories and beloved characters is an integral part of English, and just so happens to be Jacki's absolute favorite part of her job.
Many students question why they have to learn English as a subject in school since they already know the language. At KCA, we not only get the privilege of giving our students the foundation through which every other subject is based upon through the study of English, but we get to share this all through a biblical lens and a Christian worldview. Our students will learn the building blocks of the English language so they can learn to read God's Word, to understand it in a deeper way, to know God more as a result, and become articulate and effective doers and sharers of His Word with the world.
