Common Questions about our academics:

How do students graduate from KCA?
At KCA we acknowledge that God has given parents the primary responsibility for raising and educating their children as stated in Ephesians 6:4. Parents partner with KCA to educate their students in a way that is honorable to God. At KCA we embrace the concept In Loco Parentis which means that when KCA students are in our program, we serve in the place of the parents. We recognize that we are being trusted during school hours to guide our students in truth and wisdom. Our students are true homeschoolers and are graduated by their parents. KCA assists by hosting transcript training every year in April. Each May we host a meaningful ceremony where our parents honor and graduate their students. The family creates and maintains their student’s transcript. What about a diploma?
Our students receive a diploma signed by their parents at the graduation ceremony. They are graduates of their family homeschool academy.
Can my student take dual credit classes?
Dual credit classes are courses that allow high school students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. Many of our juniors and all of our seniors take dual credit courses. KCA partners with LeTourneau University for dual credit courses.
Examples of Dual Credit Classes at KCA:
• English Composition • College Algebra • Psychology • Government Two of the courses our students take are English Composition I (ENGL 1013) and English Composition II (ENGL 1023). Offered in conjunction with LeTourneau University, these classes satisfy the two core English courses required for almost all college majors. Composition I is provided during the fall semester, and Composition II is offered in the spring. Each course is three credit hours; therefore, completing both earns six hours of college credit. While some of our dual credit courses are online, these two courses are taught face-to-face by a highly qualified professor employed by both KCA and the university. Students learn to utilize LeTourneau’s Canvas system, online library, and other university resources while still benefiting from individual, personalized instruction and guidance from an on-campus professor.
