Mrs. Gilcrease

A native Texan, Mrs. Gilcrease graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, followed by receiving her Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Women’s University. She worked in the field of rehabilitation prior to employment in the public school system where she enabled special needs children to become more functional and independent in the classroom. Although this environment provided great fulfillment, she left the position to pursue her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom when she and her husband Chris were expecting their first child. They have two daughters and one son, all homeschooled for theduration of their education. Fun fact – part of this education was spent down under in Perth, Australia, where the family resided from 2008-2011. The girls are recent Texas A&M graduates, and their youngest son is a senior at KCA.

Mrs. Gilcrease taught in other homeschool settings prior to becoming part of the KCA family in 2019. Beginning in 2023, she joined the staff of KCA. Her love and enthusiasm for the subject of math has been a part of her life since childhood. One of her highest goals in teaching is to share this enthusiasm with her students so that they may not just effectively master the concepts, but

that they may also experience a joy in learning and in seeing God’s handiwork throughout the subject.

Outside the many homeschooling endeavors, Mrs. Gilcrease has enjoyed serving in the student ministry at Kingsland Baptist Church where her family has been actively involved for over twenty years. A foodie at heart, she is passionate about cooking and baking, but also finds much enjoyment in exercising, working on various art projects, and cheering on her beloved sports teams.
