Mrs. O'Brien loves serving children.  A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, she began her career working in the public school system where she focused on speech and language disorders of young children. Seeing a student succeed in the classroom brought her great joy then, just as it does now.

 

The O’Briens have been a part of Katy Classical Academy since 2016. Kari joined the staff in 2018 becoming a lead teacher in Kindergarten, where she still finds great joy in teaching the youngest of our community truth. Mrs. O'Brien and her husband Jack have three children. 

 

Mrs. O'Brien is blessed to lead the Primary School program, while she also enjoys teaching young children the gift of reading. Teaching a child to read is a way to open their world and experience freedom through both knowledge and adventure.  Mrs. O'Brien is all about freedom for a young child to learn truth in Christ.

 

In her free time, Mrs. O'Brien enjoys tap dancing, crafts, spending time with her family, and watching the Astros and Texas A&M sports. She and her family are active members of Kingsland Baptist Church where she has served in the Special Needs Ministry for the last 12 years.
